In Loving Memory of
Virginia Gomez
(AKA Louise Santos)
Born November 18, 1944 in Oakland, CA, the daughter of Louie and Josephine Santos. She peacefully passed on October 28, 2025 in San Leandro, CA.
She was preceded in death by her dearest sister Mary and her cherished niece Suzette.
She is survived by her four children:
Carla Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Robert Gomez, and David Gomez, the youngest, who devoted much of his life to caring for his mother. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephew: Calvin, Maryann, Roxanne, and Leilani. And many more great nieces and nephews.
Virginia had a lifelong passion for music and loved to sing. She often dreamed of performing on stage, letting her powerful voice fill a room. One of her all-time favorite songs was “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner, which she sang with deep emotion and feeling. She also had an avid record collection owning an uncountable number of 45s, LPs, and singles of her favorite artists.
Other things that she did was going for long drives, and walking in the rain. While others stayed indoors, she let us children play outside splashing puddles and getting soaked.
She enjoyed Christmas time with all the decorations from the houses, and the store fronts, and displays. This included TV showed shows like " Frosty the Snowman" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."
In respecting my mom's wishes, she is honored by not having a service. She liked it her way!
