Sandy passed away peacefully in San Leandro on February 23, 2025 after residing at Carlton Senior Living Memory Care for several years. She was born on March 4, 1941 in Hayward, California to Raymond and Hazel Williams. She graduated from San Leandro High School in January 1959. She met the love of her life, Vaughn Donahue at age 16 at a dance at St. Leander Church. They were married at St. Leander Church on Sept. 9, 1961.

Sandy’s main focus was always on her family, her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. She was a very active parishioner of St. Leander Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of St. Vincent dePaul society, a volunteer for the Festival, and she worked in the Parish office in many different capacities for 43 years.

Besides her family and friends, Sandy loved Hawaii, the 49ers, music, theater, drum and bugle corps, roses, PBS Television, movies, being silly, and desserts.

She is survived by her children Amber Martinez (Mike), Shelley Schumann (Jon) and Todd Donahue (Amber) and her grandchildren Brandon Caraballo (Angela), Brianna Navarro (Hugo), Mikey Martinez, Jenna Schumann, Sophia Donahue, Vaughn Donahue, and her great grandchildren Aliza, Leila, Gabby and Lilly Caraballo. Her first great grandson is due in July.

It is the family’s wish that donations be made to St. Leander Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. A celebration of her life will be held on March 4th at 10:00AM at St. Leander Church, 550 West Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro.
