In Loving Memory of Robert Michael Huaco (July 17, 1932 – January 16, 2025)
Robert Michael Huaco passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Oakland, California, in 1932 during the Great Depression, Robert’s upbringing shaped his unwavering work ethic and deep love for his family.
Robert’s love of travel took him to Peru, where he visited his father, a senator in the Peruvian parliament. It was there that he met Teresa, the love of his life, with whom he would share 64 wonderful years of marriage.
A longtime resident of San Leandro, California, Robert worked as a dedicated warehouseman and a self-taught investor, always striving to provide a better life for his wife and children. He instilled in his family the values of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of education.
Robert had a passion for classical music, Humphrey Bogart films, and lively evenings filled with hi-balls and laughter among family and friends. Summers were spent creating cherished memories on family vacations to Yosemite, Clear Lake, and the Russian River.
In his retirement, Robert continued to explore the world with Teresa by his side, traveling extensively to Europe, South America, and Hawaii. Above all, Robert treasured his family, finding immense joy and pride in his grandchildren. He was also member of the elks club.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa; his son, Michael; his daughter, Kathy; and his grandchildren: Elizabeth, Natalie, Anthony, and Michael. He is also survived by his sister Carmen H Nuzum of La Selva Beach, Ca.
We love you, Pop. May you rest in peace, surrounded by the love you so generously gave to us all.
