Paul Rivera August 13, 1927 – November 20, 2024 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Rivera, who died peacefully at his home in Dublin, California, on November 20, 2024, at the age of 97. Paul was with his daughter Stephanie by his side during his final moments. Born in South San Francisco, California, on August 13, 1927, Paul was the son of Teodulo and Elvira Rivera. In his childhood, he moved to Oakland, California where he developed a passion for boxing, movies, and dancing. These early interests shaped a lively and active character who loved to engage in his community. As a young man, Paul had a brief boxing career before meeting the love of his life, Annette, at Sunshine Biscuits in Oakland, California. They married in 1950, beginning a 72-year journey together. In 1961, they moved to Dublin, California, where they raised two daughters, Martha and Stephanie. Throughout his life, Paul was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His family was always his top priority, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them, instilling the values of hard work, love, and loyalty. Paul was known for his vibrant personality. He loved spending time with his family, enjoying drinks, dancing, reading books, and watching sports. His neighbors in Dublin fondly remember him as an exceptional neighbor who took great pride in maintaining his home and yard. He and Annette were the original owners of their house in Dublin, which they called home for over 60 years. Paul was the second-oldest of 11 siblings, and now joins his beloved wife Annette, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his two daughters, Martha and Stephanie ; four grandchildren, Neva, Teresa, Craig Jr., and Anthony; one great-grandson, Marcos; and two great-great-granddaughters, Aria and Tyla. A man who lived his life with kindness, love, and a joyful spirit, Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of family, laughter, and care for others will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
