Marina Meniatis (1937-2025)
Marina Meniatis, a devoted mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughter on 2/25/26. Born in Holland, Marina immigrated to the US at 18, eventually settling in San Francisco and the Bay Area to build a life of purpose and passion.
A UCSF graduate, Marina worked tirelessly to build a successful real estate career, becoming a broker and creating her own company Marina Realty. Her community was her priority, and she gave back by creating neighborhood watch groups and emergency preparedness programs. Setting up holiday meals/dinners for seniors, creating bridge groups, starting art initiatives for seniors and children , and volunteering her time to local hospitals, senior groups and animal rescue programs. She would often make clothing and food to share with anyone in need. She spent the later part of her life painting. She won many prizes at the Alameda County Fair for her artwork and loved painting so much that she became president of her local art association.
Marina is survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, two sisters, a brother and countless neighbors/friends. A celebration of life will be held in August. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Oakland SPCA.
