Lillian Ruby Reasoner, affectionately known as Granny by her grandchildren, peacefully departed to reunite with her beloved husband and daughter in heaven on the morning of April 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley California.
Born in Oakland, California to Vincent Medina and Mary Cabral, she was the cherished youngest among six siblings. Reflecting on her spirited youth, Lillian often shared fond memories of tagging along mischievously with her sister Rosie.
In 1952, she entered into matrimony with Edward Reasoner, Jr., embarking on a journey that brought forth two children, Geraldine and Eddie. Lillian's generosity knew no bounds as she dedicated herself to not only to nurturing her own family but also to volunteering at the deaf school and various churches, enriching the lives of many.
Her grandchildren lovingly called her Granny, and despite her playful suggestion that they address her as Gran in later years, they persisted in calling her Granny. They considered themselves truly fortunate, with friends often expressing envy, wishing they too had a Granny as cool and caring as theirs. Lillian possessed a remarkable talent for making all who entered her home feel like cherished family. Her warm hospitality, delicious food, and inviting demeanor created a welcoming haven for everyone she encountered. In her passing, Lillian leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will continue to inspire generations to come. While she may no longer walk alongside us, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience her boundless warmth and grace.
