Leonard Bermudez Obituary

Leonard Jones Bermudez was born June 8th, 1949 to the union of Jacinto Bermudez and Gladys Yvonne Flores-Bermudez in Stann Creek Town, now known as Dangriga which is in Belize. He began his education at Sacred Heart School in Dangriga. After he graduated from high school, he pursued a career in law enforcement in Belize City. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to a Traffic Control Police Officer in that town. Leonard decided to make a transition in his life and migrated to Los Angeles, California in September 1971. In December 1971, he joined the United States Army and had three tours in Europe, Germany to be specific, and was a Vietnam War Army veteran. He never hesitated to share his God-given talents to anyone who sought his assistance. There was always a spark of love on his face that allowed him to help those in need. After being honorary discharged from the military, he became a Department of Defense Police Officer. No matter how egotistical he was, he found it his duty to make sure his family, friends, and associates benefitted from his intelligence. He had a special relationship with his now deceased aunt, whom he called “mama,” along with his two deceased uncles, Max Arzu and William Flores, who he called on a regular basis to make sure they were doing alright.

Leonard was a happy-go-lucky person who’ll be missed by his family and friends. Leonard Jones Bermudez is survived by his loyal and faithful wife, Gaye Bermudez. He also has his sons, Leonard Jr., Michael, Keith, Larry, Christopher and David. His daughters, Marisa, Felicia and Nina, along with stepdaughters Lasharon and Brandi (deceased). Leonard also leaves behind an uncharted, unaccounted amount of nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a list so long that words cannot express the astonishment.
