Josephine Porreca

Josephine Porreca a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nana, aunt and friend passed away on September 20, 2024 at the age of 98 leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family.  Josephine was born and raised in Oakland, CA. She was the youngest of 14 children.  She was very proud of her Portuguese heritage. 

At the age of 16, Josephine met the love of her life Frank Porreca, they were married for 56 wonderful years until has passing in 2001.

Josephine was a seamstress, she loved to cook, bake, do crafts and crochet.  She loved to dance and later in life would enjoy dancing with her great grandchildren.  She also loved to shop.  Josephine’s greatest joy was being around her family. Josephine was always helping family and friends.  She had a heart of Gold and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Frank, She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Ann and Carol, five grandchildren, Ron Marquez, Cindy Miller, Ray Marquez, Dan Petrosene and Vinny Petrosene and 11 great grandchildren.  She also leaves nieces, nephews and many friends.
