Geraldine (Geri) Escobar passed away on December 16th 2025 at the age of 85 in her home after an illness. Born Geraldine Goveia to Manuel and Mary Goveia. She is proceeded in death by her sister Emily. Geri is survived by her children, Denise Escobar and Dennis Escobar. She was born in Oakland California where she proudly spent her entire life. She attended Castlemont high school and met her future husband Dennis Escobar when she was in her twenties and built a family with him. She had a true passion for adventure and approached life with enthusiasm and an open heart. Family was the center of her world and she made countless memories filled with laughter, fun and love. She was known for her deep compassion, kindness and warm spirit: qualities that reflected her faith and belief in loving others as God calls us to do. Geri had a way of making people feel welcome, often greeting strangers with a warm smile and kind words. Her love for all animals was strong and she passed along her love of animals to her children; teaching them to respect and care for all of God's creatures. She enjoyed many pastimes including being a fan of wrestling and baseball. She cherished her time playing softball for the Saint Paschals Rascals. She loved to watch Westerns and was especially fond of the Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke. Geri will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her faith, kindness, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. We take comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home into eternal rest.
