Francisco Vivian-Ojeda Obituary

Beloved husband, father, brother, cousin, and friend.

Francisco Vivian-Ojeda was born in El Rancho Nuevo, Michoacan, Mexico on January 29th, 1965. At a young age, he immigrated to California where he resided in Oakland, California for over 40 years. He spent most of his life working as a florist, a gardener, and landscaper.

He helped build the landscaping and water infrastructure for parks throughout the East Bay. He loved spending time in nature and hiking around the Bay Area redwood parks, hills, and Marinas. He found joy in music, singing, dancing, Mexican classic movies (Vicente Fernandez, Cantinflas, Antonio Aguilar), radio dramas (Kaliman and Porfirio Cadena). When you visited him, his dogs Canelo and Cielo were right by his side.

He passed away peacefully in the home he raised his family in on April 18th, 2026. Francisco is survived by his wife, Alicia Vivian-Calderon, his two daughters: Isabel Vivian-Calderon and Sandra Vivian-Calderon, his father Crescencio Bivian, along with his four siblings: Joaquin Bibian, Martin Bibian, Jose Ascencion Bibian, and Maria Cruz Bibian. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He will be deeply missed by all his neighbors, his friends, and his family members.

Francisco Vivian-Ojeda nació en El Rancho Nuevo, Michoacán, México, el 29 de enero de 1965. A una edad temprana, emigró a California, donde residió en Oakland durante más de 40 años. Dedicó la mayor parte de su vida a trabajar como florista, jardinero y paisajista.

Ayudó a construir la infraestructura de paisajismo y sistemas de riego para parques en el Area de la Bahía. Le encantaba pasar tiempo en la naturaleza y caminar por los parques, las colinas y las marinas del Área de la Bahía. Encontraba alegría en la música, el canto, el baile, las películas clásicas mexicanas (Vicente Fernández, Cantinflas, Antonio Aguilar) y los radioteatros (Kalimán y Porfirio Cadena). Cuando se le visitaba, sus perros, Canelo y Cielo, estaban siempre a su lado.

Falleció pacíficamente en el hogar donde crió a su familia el 18 de abril de 2026. A Francisco le sobreviven su esposa, Alicia Vivian-Calderón; sus dos hijas: Isabel Vivian-Calderón y Sandra Vivian-Calderón; su padre, Crescencio Bivian; así como sus cuatro hermanos: Joaquín Bibian, Martín Bibian, José Ascensión Bibian y María Cruz Bibian. También le sobreviven primos y sobrinos.

Será profundamente extrañado por todos sus vecinos, sus amigos y sus familiares.
