Daniel J Ewert

Dan was born in Fremont and died in Castro Valley although he lived most of his life in San Leandro.  He attended local schools and graduated from Bishop O’Dowd High School in 2010.  He loved golf, baseball, tinkering with motors but above all, he loved fishing. And he was a great fisherman.

Dan was a very loving and generous person.  He was ready with a hand for anyone who needed one and never ran out of jokes.  He was a proud father who loved his son Lincoln more than Lincoln could ever know, a veteran, former teamster’s member and a friend to many. 

He is survived by his parents, Robert Ewert and Moira Fry, sister Heidi of Arkansas, wife Christie, son Lincoln, closest uncle Kenny Evans, brother Corey Matsumura and a large extended family of blood, law and choice.  He will never know how much we will miss him.

Celebration of Life to be held on June 27 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.  Please email dansmemorial0627@gmail.com for location and to help us make sure we have enough food.  As Linc will grow up without his dad, we are putting together a book from those who knew him.  In lieu of flowers or donations, we are asking for your memories, stories and pictures you wish to share which will help Lincoln know his father who is gone.  We will have a link at his Celebration.
