It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angelo Magurno, 91, of Oakland, CA, who passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2024.
Angelo was born on July 31, 1932, to his late parents, Domenick and Frances Magurno. He had four siblings: the late Rosana Candelario, Anthony Magurno, and Geraldine Muse. He is survived by his sister Mary Baca, his cousin Victor Tufo, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Angelo spent his entire life in his childhood home in Oakland, CA. He worked for West Coast Crab for 40 years and had a deep passion for golf. Angelo was known for his generosity and kind-hearted nature, always making those around him feel valued and loved.
An active member of The Colombo Club in Oakland, CA since 1964, Angelo dedicated 60 years to the club, including serving as the bar manager. He was often found tending bar, playing cards, and making cherished memories with his family and friends at monthly dinners and annual Christmas parties.
A viewing service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10 AM followed by a rosary at 12 PM at Santos Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro. This will be followed by a burial at St Joseph’s Cemetery, 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA 94806.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Angelo’s memory to SaveSightNow.org, a charity inspired by his great-niece’s battle with a rare disease.
The family would like to thank all who cared for and supported Angelo in his final days. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous spirit, love for his community and devotion to his family. Angelo will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
